Relocating to the Florida or Plantation area

Moving to a new city is fraught with enough problems, without considering the daunting task of shopping for a place to live in addition to finding a Realtor you can trust. When relocating, you often don't have the luxury of looking at every home on the market. Most likely, you'll have the time to see 20 to 25, so pare down the list first thing with this advice:

• Before leaving town, write your needs into one list. Then write your wants in another. When a home doesn't even meet your needs, it's one less house to look at.
• Know your budget. If you are getting a mortgage, have your pre-approved amount in advance so we can eliminate homes out of your price range.
• Take into account drive time to work or other interests. Traffic around Plantation could be different than what you're accustomed to, so let me know how much time you're ready to spend travelling each day.
